Service Description

Practical, compassionate support to help you navigate the SEND system and secure the right provision for your child. I guide families through EHCPs, school placements, and access to services — ensuring your child’s voice is heard and their needs are met with clarity and confidence.


Cancellation Policy

This policy outlines how SEND Advocacy services are delivered to ensure every family receives professional, transparent, and ethical support. Purpose My role is to empower parents and carers to navigate the SEND system with clarity and confidence, ensuring each child’s rights, needs, and potential are fully recognised. Scope of Service SEND Advocacy includes: Advice and guidance on Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Support with school placements and transitions Preparation for and attendance at meetings with schools or the Local Authority Help with appeals, tribunals, and communication with professionals Guidance on accessing health, therapy, and social care services All support is tailored to the child’s individual circumstances. Booking and Payment Sessions are booked and paid for in advance to confirm your slot. Fees are clearly stated before booking; once delivered, sessions are non-refundable. Support may be provided online or in person, depending on need. Cancellations A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full (except in genuine emergencies). If I need to reschedule, you will be notified as soon as possible. Confidentiality and Data Protection All personal information is kept strictly confidential and handled in line with UK GDPR. Information is only shared with consent or where legally required (e.g. safeguarding). Safeguarding As a qualified teacher and former Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), I follow national safeguarding guidance. If a safeguarding concern arises, I have a legal duty to act. Professional Boundaries I act independently and always in the best interests of the child. SEND Advocacy does not replace legal advice; where necessary, I may signpost to trusted professionals. Communication with all parties remains professional, respectful, and focused on positive outcomes. Feedback and Complaints If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please raise it directly so it can be resolved quickly. Formal complaints can be emailed to info@thecomputerscienceteacher.com and will be acknowledged within five working days. Equality and Inclusion I work with families from all backgrounds and ensure every child’s voice and needs are central to the process. Policy Review This policy is reviewed regularly and may be updated to reflect changes in law, practice, or service delivery.
