Cancellation Policy
Purpose This policy outlines how 1:1 tuition is delivered to ensure a professional, safe, and effective learning experience for every student. It sets clear expectations for parents, students, and the tutor. 1. Booking and Payment Tuition sessions must be booked and paid for in advance to confirm the slot. Payment is non-refundable once a session has taken place. Sessions may be booked individually or as part of a package (where offered). Regular weekly slots are prioritised for ongoing students. 2. Cancellations and Rescheduling A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, except in genuine emergencies. If the tutor needs to cancel a session, as much notice as possible will be given and the session will be rescheduled. 3. Attendance and Punctuality Sessions begin and end at the agreed time. Late arrival does not extend the session. If a student does not attend without notice, the session will be charged in full. 4. Lesson Format and Delivery Sessions are delivered online via Google Meet unless otherwise agreed. A stable internet connection, working camera, and microphone are required. Students should have a quiet, distraction-free environment and bring any relevant materials. Lessons are designed around individual goals, using a mix of explanation, discussion, and guided practice. 5. Safeguarding and Supervision All sessions follow safeguarding best practice. A parent or responsible adult must be aware of when tuition is taking place and where the student is located. Lessons may not be recorded unless agreed in advance for safeguarding or learning review purposes. 6. Progress and Feedback Regular feedback is provided to parents on progress, effort, and areas for improvement. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning between sessions, including completing set tasks or revision. 7. Behaviour and Expectations Respect and professionalism are expected from both tutor and student. Inappropriate behaviour, language, or lack of engagement may result in termination of tuition. 8. Data Protection All personal information is handled in accordance with UK GDPR. Contact details and student information are used solely for educational purposes. 9. Changes to Policy This policy may be updated periodically to reflect good practice or operational changes. Parents and students will be notified of any update
